Momma Needs a Timeout: How to Cope as a Wife and Mother During Quarantine

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

“So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.”

Are you a woman that supports her pastor husband? Are you the woman that leads in a ministry?  Do you have children, older family members you are caring for?  Then recharging time for you is essential. Giving yourself a TimeOut while quarantined to the house is limited but doable.

My favorite place in the entire house is my very small walk-in closet.  Clean it out and add a beach chair, a box of tissue, your bible, book, treats anything you would like to quiet your mind and heart.

We all need these quiet moments and giving yourself that space is not a “mom fail” or a “wife fail” or a sign that you have given up. It’s a sign that you are human and cannot bear the weight of every new burden upon you alone.

Spend time in these quiet spaces pouring your heart out to Jesus – your frustrations, your fears, and your doubts. These sweet moments will allow you to reset so you can continue to serve your family without burning out in the process.
